The workshop aims to provide an overview of indigenous peoples’ right to self-determination and their engagements leading to the WCIP 2014, and other events such as the 2013 WTO Ministerial Meeting; and serve as venue for affirmation by more individuals, support groups and institutions to the cause of indigenous peoples worldwide and in the Philippines as contained in the 2013 Philippine Indigenous Peoples’ Agenda.
The said workshop is one of simultaneous workshops which will examine the lingering global crises, their impacts on the people, and the people’s views and responses as part of the general program of the People’s Solidarity Festival: Strengthening People’s Collective Actions to the Global Crisis.
This will be held from 1:30-4:00 in the afternoon on September 10, 2013 at Balay Kalinaw, UP Diliman, Quezon City. The organizers of the workshop are: the Indigenous Peoples Movement for Self-Determination and Liberation (IPMSDL), Asia Pacific Indigenous Youth Network (APIYN), Cordillera Peoples Alliance and the Katutubong Samahan ng Pilipinas (KASAPI).
