On World Food Day, or as many movements regard as “World Hunger Day,” we highlight the ongoing hunger, food insecurity, lack of decent jobs with living-wage, and the struggle with the continuous rise in prices of basic commodities which disproportionately impact Indigenous Peoples especially the youth and women.
Indigenous communities are among the most affected; they experience hunger every day with increasing environmental plunder, ancestral land grabbing for extractive development projects, forced displacement and non-recognition of their rights.
Indigenous youth resist to inherit the world of hunger where food and lands are treated as commodity and not rights. End hunger and land dispossession! Indigenous lands in Indigenous hands! Stop the attacks on Indigenous peoples communities, and small and community food producers!
