As we continue to share the voices of participants from the 2nd AIYP General Assembly and the 3rd Asia Indigenous Peoples Youth Conference in Chiang Mai, Thailand, we now highlight the reflections of our Indigenous youth from Malaysia.
Let’s hear from Jacqlyn John of Belia JOAS.
“The government’s poor management and discriminatory policies have systematically sidelined Indigenous Peoples—denying them access to their ancestral lands, silencing their voices in decision-making, and prioritizing corporate interests over their rights and heritage. History shows that when governments deny Indigenous rights through corruption and injustice, they plant the seeds of unrest that no power can silence.”
Stay tuned for more sharings from across Asia!
