Indigenous young leaders across Asia participated in a recently conducted Asia consultation with the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples and Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights in Bangkok, Thailand last November 13-15, 2019.
Discussed here are issues of indigenous peoples on the right to civil, political, social and cultural rights. Each country representative shared issues on the ground and also came up with recommendations to different stakeholders.
As indigenous youth, we forwarded our issues on education, employment, gender equality and human rights violations against indigenous leaders.
