The Asia Young Indigenous Peoples Network (AYIPN) proudly participated in the Global Youth Forum (GYF) in Bali, Indonesia, this July 22-25, 2025.
The Global Youth Forum (GYF) organized by Rights and Resources Initiative (RRI) in partnership with Aliansi Masyarakat Adat Nusantara – AMAN and Barisan Pemuda Adat Nusantara (Bpan Hst) is an initiative to develop and strengthen youth leadership within the RRI network, rooted in the core values of rights, stewardship, and sustainability.
As a network of Indigenous youth across Asia, AYIPN brings the voices, experiences, and leadership of young Indigenous defenders. Through our participation, we aim to contribute to the collective vision of intergenerational, community-rooted leadership and strengthen solidarity with fellow youth from Indigenous, Afro-descendant, and local communities worldwide.
The GYF’s leadership reflects our own struggle: as Indigenous youth, our leadership is tied to the defense of land, identity, and community wellbeing. We see this forum as a space to amplify our lived realities and deepen our solidarity across regions.
“Defending our ancestral lands is not just a right– it is our responsibility. Indigenous youth will lead the way to ensure our lands stay in our hands”, Funa-ay Claver, Secretary General, AYIPN.
