Indigenous Lands belong in Indigenous Hands (ILIH) Campaign – Philippines

From the struggles of our Indigenous brothers and sisters in Bangladesh and Northeast India, we now turn to the highlands of the Cordillera, Philippines, where the Progressive Igorots for Social Action (PIGSA) stands at the forefront of defending ancestral lands.

For the youth of PIGSA, defending the Cordillera is not only about protecting the mountains, rivers, and resources—it is about safeguarding the heart of their identity, culture, and future. In the face of mining incursions, militarization, and state neglect, they carry forward the legacy of their ancestors who resisted colonization and exploitation.
