AYIPN at the IUCN World Conservation Congress 2025

AYIPN at the IUCN World Conservation Congress 2025

We are proud to share that the Asia Young Indigenous Peoples Network (AYIPN) was represented by Blen Romam from the Cambodia Indigenous Youth Association (CIYA) at the IUCN World Conservation Congress, held from October 9–15, 2025.

The IUCN Congress brought together thousands of delegates, advocates, and environmental leaders from around the world to discuss urgent actions for biodiversity, conservation, and climate justice. As part of this global space, AYIPN’s participation reaffirmed the critical role of Indigenous youth in shaping sustainable and inclusive conservation policies.

AYIPN believes that true conservation cannot exist without justice and the meaningful inclusion of Indigenous communities who have been the original stewards of our ecosystems for generations.

This participation was made possible through the support of the Youth Climate Justice Fund (YCJF), whose commitment to empowering young people continues to amplify Indigenous-led climate and conservation actions globally.

Together, we continue to build solidarity, amplify our voices, and assert that climate justice is Indigenous justice.
