During the Solidarity Night, IP youth shared songs, dances, and traditions from their communities bringing together different cultures and experiences across the region.
On the second day, there was a discussion on the ongoing situations affecting Indigenous Peoples across South Asia and the Mekong sub-region, including how regional agreements and developments related to trade, economic cooperation, and political relations are affecting Indigenous lands, communities, livelihoods, and rights.
The participants also joined workshops focused on identifying the needs and priorities of Indigenous youth and local communities. The discussions explored how youth organizations can be strengthened and how the regional Indigenous youth network can work more collectively in responding to the challenges faced by Indigenous Peoples across Asia.
The gathering closed with participants writing and sharing their commitments—actions they will bring back to their organizations and communities. These commitments reflect the continuing work of Indigenous youth to strengthen their organizations, defend their rights, protect their lands and cultures, and build stronger solidarity across the region.
