AYIPN @ Brazil! 
The Asia Young Indigenous Peoples Network (AYIPN) proudly participated in a back-to-back global gatherings in BrasĂlia, Brazil, from May 26–June 1, 2026, bringing the voices of Indigenous youth in Asia into important conversations on community-led development, conservation, climate action, and research.
AYIPN joined the 2026 Global Summit on Collective Livelihoods & Conservation and the first-ever RRI & PACT (Pathways Alliance for Change + Transformation) Workshop, where participants from Asia, Africa, and the Americas exchanged experiences and explored ways to strengthen community economies and advance Indigenous and community-led research.
For AYIPN, these spaces are important opportunities to ensure that the realities, challenges, and aspirations of Indigenous youth in Asia are heard and reflected in global conversations. Indigenous youth are not only future leaders—we are already leading initiatives in our communities and defending our lands and rights.
We extend our sincere gratitude to the Rights and Resources Initiative (RRI) for creating and supporting these meaningful spaces for dialogue, learning, and collaboration. We especially appreciate the commitment to ensuring that Indigenous youth voices are included in discussions that shape policies, research agendas, and actions affecting our communities and territories. As Indigenous youth, our perspectives and experiences are essential in building more just, inclusive, and sustainable futures for Indigenous Peoples and communities worldwide.
The stories, experiences, and lessons shared by Indigenous Peoples and Afro-descendant communities from around the world have further strengthened our commitment as Indigenous youth to advance the ILIH Campaign—Indigenous Lands in Indigenous Hands—and continue defending our lands, rights, knowledge, and futures.
