From April 25th–27th, Indigenous youth from across Southeast Asia gathered in Sagada for the Leaders and Guardianship Gathering to unify our voices and strengthen our movement.
Through immersive workshops and expert-led sessions, we deepened our understanding of IP rights, advocacy, and the current challenges facing our communities, including state repression and militarization.
A major milestone was the collaboration between AYIPN and AIYP to formalize a Joint Mechanism for regional cooperation.
Gathering at the Dap-ay, we declared our commitment to one another and to our shared goal: advancing the Indigenous Land in Indigenous Hands (ILIH) campaign. We left Sagada a more unified force, ready to defend our land, culture, and future.
