AYIPN Congratulates Kim Falyao on Being Named Outstanding Young Human Rights Defender

The Asia Young Indigenous People’s Network (AYIPN) warmly congratulates Kim Falyao for being recognized as the Outstanding Young Human Rights Defender during the 4th Season of the Ignite Awards for Human Rights by the Amnesty International, Philippines.

Kim Falyao, a young yLias woman from Barlig, Mountain Province in the Cordillera, Philippines, led as the National Coordinator of the Siklab Philippine Indigenous Youth Network, where she actively engaged with Indigenous youth nationwide to strengthen collective action for the protection of ancestral lands and Indigenous Peoples’ rights.

AYIPN recognizes the commitment of Kim Falyao and all Indigenous youth defenders advancing the collective struggle for ancestral lands, self-determination, and human rights. Her recognition reflects the strength of collective action and solidarity among Indigenous communities and youth movements in defending our lands, cultures, and future.
